Why a Hallowedding Site?

This site is the culmination of a lot of frustration. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, so my husband and I decided to get married on October 31 and have a Halloween-themed wedding. Whilst there is plenty of information about Halloween parties available, resources and ideas for Halloweenish weddings are pretty thin on the ground. It took me a lot of dedicated research to plan my wedding, and more than once I longed for a Website that could help me. As a friendly service to future brides, I decided to create the site I'd wished I could find.

This site includes ideas, anecdotes, caveats, links, and other resources to help you plan your Halloween wedding. It's partly a chronicle of my own experience, but it also has plenty of other suggestions, including many contributions from other Halloweenish souls. I've tried to include a cross-section of ideas, since the celebration that you want may be considerably different than mine. Where possible, I've also provided sources to give you a head start on collecting your theme elements.

For those traditionalists who balk at the concept of such a "weird" wedding, I'll mention that my guests ranged in age from 22 to 80, none of them were particularly unusual in their habits or outlook, and all of them told me that it was one of the best weddings they'd ever attended. Everybody has been to dozens of "traditional" weddings; why not have a really memorable celebration instead? (Even better, since you're not following a traditional format, nobody will know if you're doing it wrong.)

For those of you who've planned similar weddings, I'd love to hear your stories. If you have suggestions of your own, please write me and I'll include them on the site.

Finally, I'll include the standard disclaimer: This information is free for your personal use. Representing it as your own may result in legal action or a leather-winged demon of the night dining on your pancreas.

Happy Wedding!

Jenna
