Motifs: Trick or Treat
Hark back to childhood trick-or-treating with a theme that can be as elegant or kitschy as you like.
Use orange-and-black invitations with stamped images or cutouts of ghosts or pumpkins as a border. Look for reprints of Victorian Halloween greeting cards, which have an antique elegance. For a more casual card, use one shaped like a pumpkin, or even use children's Halloween party invitations.
At a Halloween wedding, you might want to wear a costume that reflects your interests - a pilot, scuba diver, mountain climber, or even a rodeo star make for entertaining weddings.
If you want your guests to arrive in costume, be sure to say so on the invitation.
Use jack-o-lanterns as centerpieces. Use wired ribbons in your wedding colors to add decorative accents to your arrangements and to make bows to accent doorways, tables, pews, and the aisle.
Give your guests mini-treat bags as favors.
As you depart, have your guests send you off with a flurry of black and orange confetti.
